Second Moray Girls U13s Team?

Moray Girls FC are looking to start up another U13s girl’s football team. This would give more players the opportunity to compete in the North Region Girls Football League (NRGFL) at the U13 age group and give the club a better 'pool' of players when they move up to the U15’s age group, therefore preventing the situation that the 15’s had recently experienced with lack of players. In order for this to be successful, we need the 'backing' from everyone at the club. As a result, we propose to hold a meeting for players and parents on Monday 20th April at 6.30pm in the Lido Cafe. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the future of the U13s squad and to establish if people can assist the new U13s team. This may be making sandwiches, photography, a small match report for the local paper, help with transport, a bit of coaching, putting up goals, or team co-ordinator. The more people we can get to help the team the more successful the team will be on and off the pitch.

If you have any queries or would like to help any of the teams at Moray Girls please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!!

Tesco Cup

Moray Girls have entered the Tesco Cup for the first time at both U14 and U16 age groups. The tournament is open to all girls' community football clubs who are affiliated to their local Football Association, who in turn must have agreed to participate in the competition. Clubs must have registered their entry before the start of the 2008/9 season (in line with their County, Area, Regional or National Cup regulations). Each Country in the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland) holds a tournament to find a winner to represent their country. These teams then all compete at the UK International Final on Sunday 24th May 2009 which will be held at The Reebok Stadium, Bolton Wanderers FC this year.

Last years UK competition was won by Scottish Champions Hibs Girls beating Welsh Champions Cardiff City Girls in the round-robin final at the impressive City of Manchester Stadium.

This year the Scottish National Finals will be held at Stirling University on Saturday 18th April from 10.00am - 6pm. U14s have 20 teams entered and U16s have 17, with the winners of each of the four groups progressing to the semi final. Fingers crossed for all the girls involved. There will be a 49 seater bus going down therefore if you wish to go down and support the teams please contact us.
